My passion for journalism began when I was fifteen-years-old and hired as an intern at the Carroll County Comet in Delphi, Indiana. I took those basics of news writing and reporting with me to DePauw University and created The DePauw multimedia department where I recruited a staff of amateur storytellers who, like me, recognized the power of digital storytelling and were eager to experiment with its potential.
I have been awarded seven media-focused internships in my college career including a five-month internship at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette where I independently shot and produced fifty-seven multimedia stories. I graduate from DePauw in a few months and plan to pursue a career in multimedia journalism. My goal is to work in a newsroom that offers mentorship and a competitive, forward-thinking environment.
